In recent times, Ireland’s post-primary schools have experienced considerable social, cultural, economic and technological change. As a result newly qualified teachers are entering an increasingly diverse rapidly changing school environment. Studies indicate diversity gap between the profile of pupils, in schools; whereby homogenous population teachers, teach heterogeneous students. Consequently, efforts been made to better understand diversity, profile, those teaching profession. This paper contributes this body knowledge, through investigation entrants concurrent (post-primary) initial teacher education programmes (ITE) Ireland 2009–2020. Previous studies investigated consecutive ITE, while less is known about ITE programmes. Data from Higher Education Authority used compile 2009 2020. The results that these more than (primary) ITE. finds, therefore, overall profession Ireland.
